About

This space is for Franciscans and others interested in environmental justice and in the care of the environment to share ideas, concerns and “best practices” about:

  • Promoting better relationships with one another and with our world
  • Protecting and improving our air, water, land and mineral resources.

I would like to see an acknowledgement that water below the ground may also be counted in available water for a community. With every oil well water is used and discovered. However the amount of water discovered in the ground by the oil drilling appears to be unaccounted for and becomes a silent resource.

Surface water harnessing schemes such as massive reservoirs being held back by earth and dam structures continue to be serious concerns for down stream inhabitants.

I don’t have concrete suggestions as to how to approach the issues from the groups perspective, however, a label or a heading should be sufficient to spark enough discussion.
